VICTORY

On this date - the 5th anniversary of the Iraq war - I find it fitting to announce we have officially won.

Up to now there have been only 29,320 U.S. troops seriously wounded in the line of duty. Compare this to the 29,982 page views to this web site and you'll see we win by 662.

Great job everyone. Because of our efforts our troops can now pack up their shit and head back home. Our country owes us a tremendous debt. We are truly the unsung heroes in this global struggle against evil. God bless American boggers.

P.S. We will soon be accepting applications for Operation Smash Iran. Blog on my brothers and sisters!!!

Hoist the MISSION ACCOMPLISHED banner.

Speaking of banners do you guys remember we occasionally would pick sides of 5 or 6 or so and declare war and use sticks, stones, spears from tangan tangan trees or whatever else we could use as weapons. Sometimes we'd even have a flag or banner or some such. The battles would go on until we either got tired or hungry or someone's mom came and got them and that was the end of that we all went home to fight another day. All this for really no other reason than it seemed like the thing to do at the time.
Our planning, strategy and execution of these conflicts somehow seems oddly familiar.

We had one such war at our house. Half were on the roof (ah, those flat, concrete roofs...) and the other half on the ground.

Someone (Dan?) threw a spear at DRL. He emitted a blood curdling scream and we all thought he was a goner. He survived but he did have a nice gusher on his hand.

Remember? I'm sure most of us still have the scars. Anyone seen Alice's ass latey?

No but my brother shot me in the arm with a target point on an arrow. It bounced off the bone. We ran inside and I tried to pretend nothing happened, then the ache got so bad I told my mom. Since I didn't want Mark to get into trouble I lied about it and told her someone hit me with a rock at school. She saw through the lie and made me wait till after dinner to take me to GRMC where the wound was cleaned out quite roughly by someone.

RAC, I've tried to contact Alice...unsuccessfully, I quit after 2 tries. I'm not gonna Dog someone who wants left alone.

Yea Sean, I'll never forget that day! And just think, no love was lost. We were still friends and continued to play and beat each other up, and enjoyed it! These days if a kid gets hurts, lawyers get involved.

Kids don't play the way we did back in the day...these todays. I haven't heard of a kid playing war since, well since.....Guam. Matter of fact, I haven't seen a kid with a real BB gun since, well since Guam. Sure miss the BB guns too. Heck, I got my first pocket knife for my 6th birthday, and brought it to school for 'show and tell'. These days a 6 year old would be 'cuffed' by the 'man' for doing the same thing.

Oh yes, those 'were' the days my friends.

When asked if anyone had seen Alice's ass I wasn't speaking figuratively. I was actually referring to the scar acquired in some long forgotten battle. ;-)

And RAC, I always wanted to see her, (you know what) but only saw it in my dreams...so sad.

OK JULS, I'm a little confused? Now, did your brother actually place a target on your shoulder, aim an arrow at it, shoot, and hit it? Or did he just shoot an arrow in the air and it hit your shoulder? Either way, that is a classic, equal to that of Dan throwing a spear at my brother Dave (drl) and hitting him in the hand. Sorry that I don't remember this incident? If I would have know about this back then in the day, I would have teased you from hear to kingdom come!! Now we have two official "Dean's Circle's Purple Heart war game Awards' that must be given out! (Mark really did that to you. So unlike him.....hmmmm)!

By the way juls, I know a guy on the archery team hear. He was asked to shoot an arrow in the air. He did, and missed! :)

You know, the story goes that the Sailor and Nurse in this photo are still alive and live in New York City (though not together). Local news (NYC news) had a story of them just last year. It was quite romantic. Interviewed the both of them. To bad they never hitched up.

Darn, I was hoping someone would have commented that my post made no sense. I would have responded that "that was exactly the point."

OK RAC'ster, my sister-in-law, one of the two triplets to my wife, is a nurse. She always wears those sexy nurse outfits. So, everytime I happen to see her, she is in her scrubs or very short short nurse skirt. I always lay a wet one on her, even in front of my wife! She plays the part well, just like in this photo. :) Then she slaps me with a smile!

So, I thought you posted this just for me!

I remember us younger kids would make guns out of tangan tangan, then we'd shoot and argue whether the bullet hit or not. I was gullible in that I'd think maybe I didn't hit them. It was always,No you didn't hit me, I'm still alive and I'd think "No I got you that time":)
