Yee Haw! Vegas baby!

Well it's official, I reserved our room and we'll be there(my wife and I that is).I'm working with the hotel to get us a private room for a reunion dinner and also a location for a fiesta style barbecue with all the fixins. I'll be happy to cook the food(being married to Benita for so long I've learned a little about red rice, kelaguen, and potato salad) I figured I could contribute something what with so many people doing so much to make this happen. Is this gonna be cool or what?

Mat, great to hear that! I too, as well as others, have already reseved a hotel room! Hope you can persuade the hotel to give us a private room for a reunion dinner. You can cook...as I pound the suds awaiting your home cooked Guamanian meal!

Mat, this is going to be 'Super Cool'!

Ric,you won't be the only one pounding the suds. A little beer for the cook, a little for the fire. A little more for the cook, a little more for the fire. A little more for the cook, and a little more for the cook and OH SHIT, FIRE. hahaha!

"Me man, beer good"! Oooogh!

A cook-out sounds amazing. And don't worry about a grill Mat. We're talking Vegas in July here, just set the food outside for 3 or 4 minutes and... vola!

Mat, I'll come to Vegas just for that!!!!

Matt sounds great. I am not sure you will talk them into letting you cook on thier property. I have been looking, and Juls has mentioned it as well, a Japanese resterant. If they wont let you cook on the sidewalk (literaly), or in a pit, let's think of this as an alternitive.
Juls, chime in on this one.

Do any of the suites have cooking appliances? If so, we could get one suite and I can volunteer to sleep there........

I still like Mat's idea. If he can get it done, fiesta baby...Guam style! That would make the tip complete indeed.

Juls, yes, they only cost some $500 a night. Try to talk the guys out of a feast fry.

DRL said...

I can't spell, try talking the guys out of a fiesta fry cookout thing. Look at Ric and Mat. they are so looking forward to fire!!!

Hey, wait just one minute there, I am willing to fork over the bucks (if necessary) to have Mat reserve a room for a Guam style fiesta (as long as he is willing to be the head-chef).

Not only am I looking fwd. to a fire and pounding a few suds with the cook, I also would like a Guamanian Fiesta thing going on if we can do it, in Vegas Baby!

Are you going to serve half-cooked barbecue chicken? :-)

Matt called me and has a lead on a park with a pavilion that we can rent. He will bring what is needed. Lets get the "Dean's Circle Vegas Baby Fiesta". As Ric said, lets pool some loot and make it happen.

The Joanna fund is now the "HELP" fund. It is mainly going to get people to Vegas Baby. But remember that we will need to share in the "Dean's Circle Vegas Baby Fiesta" as well.

Just two very important question...

1). Will it be to hot in July to have an out door Fiesta in Vegas baby?

2). Do they permit grown up drinks in these parks?

DRL said...

Ric, the answer to both your questions, hum how do I say this.

IT IS LAS VEGAS, NV IN JULY AND THEY SERVE DIRNKS EVERY WHERE YOU GO.

Yea, I guess they have no problem with adults (sorry RAC) drinking, and it will probably be somewhere near 396 degrees.

Sorry drl, but it doesnt get that hot till late august..July runs in the low 200's..:)

Mat and Benita, I thought I posted but it's not here. I will buy sashimi, wasabi, cabbage, soy sauce and all that we need. I could try making "Poki" from Hawaii also. I learned how to make potato salad and keleguen. Need good lemons:) and a mean finadene':)with cherry tomatoes and lots of onions.Domo Arigato Gozaimasu,Mat and Benita and everyone.

DRL said...

Rod you are right, low to mid 200's anyway.

Joanna, sounds great, and we should be able to get stuff localy as well.

I kind of advocate for Juls idea, if some one has a suite with cooking gear, I vote we go there (it's a out door heat thing in July that I'm worried about).

At the risk of hurting a great relationship, I have a friend who lives in Vegas and has a fabulous house (so she says) with a pool. Perhaps we can party at her place. On Guam there is no such thing as strangers - right? Remember weekend fiesta crashing?

Joanna said...

Becki, I was just thinking that. This will be a bar-b-que/fiesta.Just a time together to burn some meat and shoot the you know what. We do it here so often that I can sense the difference from here to there. No chips please:) Just kidding, they have good shaped ones with good dip but, maybe roll a few lumpia and some hot oil, bean sprouts, romaine lettuce...WAh Lah.

Ric, Juls, Joanna and Becki. Sounds great on all accounts. Lets get with Matt (who is heading up the "Dean's Circle Vegas Baby Fiesta Bash") and see what will work best for him. One thing about the park is we will not destroy a friendship or get the nabours(I can's spell, the people who live next door) calling the cops on us (even though Reno 911 should be with us).
The nice thing about a room is AIR CONDITIONING. although we can have the fiesta at night.
If someone is willing to get a suite, we can upgrade with our block (Matt did with the same price), and I can talk to the ladies I am working with to see abouta suite. We can pitch in for the diferance (I still can't spell).

drl,yes I agree that we can plan a menu from Guam. I tried making keleguen in Florida but,the lemons were tangerines.I shoud've of cooked it instead of throwing it out. Mat and Benita are close to Guam's roots. They know how to assemble, prepare and grill with friends and family. That I know for sure:)

DRL said...

Joanna, the room would work for cooking wouldn't it, or do we need a fire pit? We could use a couple couches from the room for a fire pit, but no. The nice thing about the room too, is that we would not need designated drivers. I have no problem not drinking, but ohters might.

Maybe these people can help you out

drl, becki, mat, juliet & Jo (hey, but where's the RAC'sters imput hear?), keep the good ideas coming!

Joanna said...

Yeah, let's burn the couches for the fire and put it on the balcony.Noone should notice:)If they do,we'll offer chesa.(sp)?

In all honest, the park will be blazzingly hot. I say we shoot for Becky' friend's house, or see if anyone in Vegas caters Guamanian food.
